Sr. Researcher-NBC Sports

NBC Sports is looking for a Sr. Researcher to join the team. The position will require sound editorial judgment, quick decision making, and the ability to interact with the entire production staff during live studio programming.Responsibilities:Autonomous creation, editing and dissemination of information about sports and athletes across NBC platforms including but not limited to the NBA/WNBA, NFL, Olympics, College Football & Basketball, Golf, Premier League, Horse Racing, Motorsports and CyclingImpeccable judgment and consistency in delivery of information, both verbal and writtenLead other staff members on any given assignment including but not limited to, coaching in production environments, editing written deliverables and leading brainstormsOwn key editorial decisions in live moments, elevating as necessary and weigh multiple considerations simultaneouslyMaintain the accuracy and integrity of on-air contentBe a constructive teammate by working with producers and on-air talent to develop story ideas, gather story-related research, and fact check scripts (both pre-produced and live broadcast, in studio and on remote)Prepare on-air talent prior to shows, and provide accurate, on the spot information during broadcasts including in various capacities in studios, control rooms and on remote, sometimes as the only production representative with talentDuties include contributing to production and editorial meetings, creating and writing a daily research and story memo for production and talent, and responding to specific research requests, plus live support for talent and production staff in varying capacities including but not limited to on remotes and in studios/control roomsResearchers are expected to become experts in the stories, athletes, rules, results, and histories in every sport televised by NBC SportsBe prepared to contribute to research projects across NBC Sports properties including supporting game and event production with notes and briefings
