Director, Sports Programming Finance - NBC Sports

The Director, Sports Programming Finance will report to the VP Finance and work as a part of the National Sports team which includes tentpole properties including Sunday Night Football, NBA, PGA Tour, Premiere League, The US Open, Ryder Cup, and Notre Dame Football. This role will be responsible for the rights management of our major properties and work closely with FP&A, programming and production. Programming Finance:Ownership of all contracts and rights management, including external communications and reconciliations with league and television partnersWork cross-functionally with internal finance teams to drive end-to-end financial ownership of sports rightsLead internal programming finance processes, including pacing updates (2–3 times per quarter), consolidation of budget and long-range planning forecasts, and conducting variance analysisMaintain an up-to-date forecast of Sports Rights and obligations to our league partnersAct as the finance partner to the Programming and Scheduling teams, responsible for managing and communicating rights changes and scheduling updates to all impacted internal stakeholders across national platformsPartner with Business Development as the key finance lead on all rights extensions and partnership deals across linear and digital platforms, with a focus on bid model P&L development and ongoing performance analysis against projectionsCollaborate with senior leaders in Marketing and Programming as a strategic finance partner, aligning cross-brand initiatives (Sports and Entertainment) to optimize budget planning, prioritize spending, and support financial target achievementCoordinate with the Controllership team to ensure accurate treatment of rights accounting, including monthly accounting, proper treatment of new and extension contracts, and providing timely support
