Job Title: Head Chef – Gas Burgers

Location: North Haven, CT (On-site)

About Gas Burgers:

Gas Burgers is a bold new concept reimagining the American burger joint — housed in a restored 1950s gas station with retro charm, live music, bocce, cornhole, and fire pit lounges. We serve up locally sourced, premium food — including grass-fed Vermont beef, organic Vermont produce, and Maine-grown potatoes — all in a vibrant, indoor/outdoor space built for food and fun. We’re scaling fast with a franchise vision, and we’re looking for a culinary leader to help shape the future.

The Role:

We’re hiring a Head Chef to lead kitchen operations, own the quality of our menu, and bring creativity and discipline to the heart of Gas Burgers. As the first in command of our back-of-house, you’ll manage the culinary team, uphold food standards, help with seasonal menu development, and be a key part of scaling our concept for future locations. This position includes the opportunity to earn equity in the business and help define a brand poised for regional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all kitchen operations, including food prep, execution, cleanliness, and safety

Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

Lead, train, and manage BOH staff, schedules, and performance

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations

Develop and innovate new menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings

Control food cost, waste, inventory, and vendor relationships

Collaborate with ownership and front-of-house leadership on operations and guest experience

Support franchise development through recipe documentation, SOPs, and scalability strategy

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in a head chef or executive kitchen leadership role

Strong understanding of food cost management, kitchen systems, and team development

Experience with fast-casual or upscale casual concepts preferred

Creative flair with a passion for premium ingredients and approachable comfort food

Leadership skills, a calm presence under pressure, and a deep commitment to excellence

Experience designing menus and scaling for multi-unit or franchise environments is a plus
