1. Main Objectives
The Maintenance Technician I position is responsible for performing general repair and maintenance on production and facility equipment, property structures, and grounds.
2. Area of Responsibility
Maintenance Technician I Responsibilities
Perform basic building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and stocking of items as necessary
Implement preventative maintenance measures, working on scheduled machine down time
Perform regularly scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance items
Perform simple general housekeeping tasks
Comply with all safety regulations

4. Main Challenges
While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment can also be loud at times. Administrative and engineering controls are used to limit or reduce employee’s exposure to these elements.
5. Competence profile (ideal)
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and write English.
Two plus years in a maintenance production field.
Ability to lift objects up to 75lbs
Ability to climb ladders, work on elevated platforms, work on areas up to 35 feet in the air, and tolerate working in temperature extremes (hot or cold).
· Ability to operate a forklift, lifting equipment, multiple power tools, and work with pressurized fluids and gases.
· Walking/carrying (80% of the day), lifting / moving (20% of the day)
· 20/20 eyesight (corrected/uncorrected)
