The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range$99,100.00 - $163,500.00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?Are you an HR professional with a general knowledge of employment law and the ability to establish credibility and rapport, while objectively drawing factual conclusions? As a Manager, Investigations, Employee Relations (ER), you will work as part of an ER investigation team and will be responsible for conducting and documenting a variety of Human Resources (HR) investigations across multiple business units, gathering relevant facts and presenting your findings in an efficient, detailed and professional manner.What Will You Do?

Your responsibilities may include all or the majority of, but not limited to, these components:

Simultaneously conduct multiple HR investigations of normal to moderate risk, including complaints submitted through the Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR) Process, ER Hotline, Ethics Point Helpline and other channels.

HR concerns and allegations investigated include, but are not limited to, allegations of discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment and retaliation raised under federal, state or local Fair Employment Practices laws, ethics violations alleging violations of HR policies, and other violation of company policies (many investigations are conducted under privilege).

Prepare comprehensive and timely investigation reports and effectively summarize findings to key stakeholders.

Work in partnership with respective ER Directors, HR Generalists (HRG), Employment lawyers and other stakeholders throughout the investigation process as appropriate.

Document all managed HR investigations in Travelers’s ER case management system in a timely manner and ensure investigation records are updated appropriately after investigation milestones; analyze and report out ER investigation data periodically.

Assist ER investigation team and ER Leadership with developing and updating HR investigation tools and resources and training modules, aimed at streamlining the investigation process and instituting HR investigative best practices that are consistent across the enterprise.

Support and assist with ER programs, projects and initiatives, such as medical accommodations, and policy and process reviews, as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

5 years’ HR/ER experience or equivalent in education and experience, with strong knowledge of Employee Relations. 1 year experience leading and conducting HR investigations in a corporate environment.

Experience supporting Employee Relations efforts in a matrixed organization.

General P&C Insurance knowledge.

Demonstrated experience managing HR investigations with high level of confidentiality.

Advanced HR knowledge, and general knowledge of employment laws and HR investigation best practices.

Strong oral and written communication, strategic thinking, conflict management, organizational and presentation skills.

Proficient in analyzing, manipulating and reporting out on ER investigation data and demonstrated experience using ER case management systems.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Some travel may be required (approximately 20%), sometimes on very short notice.

Law degree is a plus, but not required.

What is a Must Have?

Minimum of 3 years’ HR/ER experience or equivalent in education and experience.
