ABOUT THE ROLEThe Insurance Claims Specialist is primarily responsible for coordinating and

administering the company's casualty and property insurance claims. The

Insurance Claims Specialist will be responsible for the daily management and

coordination of Workers' Compensation claims between the third-party claims

administrator (TPA) and Operations. The Specialist will work closely with

Operations, insurance TPA and various stakeholders to ensure an efficient

and comprehensive claims administration process.

Essential FunctionsResponsible for daily administration of General Liability, Automobile and

Workers' Compensation claims; reviews and evaluates all work-related

accident reports for completeness and clarity of data; analyze data to

ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.Educate and advise employees and departments on compliance issues pertaining

to workers' compensation policies, procedures, state statutes and regulations.Maintain contact with individuals both inside and outside of the company who

might have an affect on workers' compensation, health and safety issues.Identify and analyze problems regarding workers' compensation claims;

Recommend investigation and surveillance on employees through a third-party

administrator (TPA); Monitor attendance and medical appointments of

employees on workers' compensation.Refine methods of recording workers' compensation injury information;

Review records and reports claims to ensure compliance with state statutes;

Maintain and audit workers' compensation data and payroll system;

Troubleshoot and resolves discrepancies in the data.Coordinate with the Safety Department and Operations to develop and implement

comprehensive light duty and return to work programs to reduce workers'

compensation costs and minimize lost timeWork closely with FMLA administrator on cases where workers' compensation,

ADA, and FMLA intersect.Assist in preparing claim trend reports as needed for senior management and

Operations. Including, but not limited to monthly and quarterly loss run

reports, open litigation reports, annual claims cost, and other custom

reports.Identify claim trends and coordinate with Safety Department to recommend

safety measures to eliminate or reduce incidence of occupational injuries.Coordinate and conduct training on proper Workers' Compensation procedures.Serve as a resource and provide authoritative advice and guidance regarding

casualty and property insurance for the legal team, operations, and safety

department.Work with MYR's Fleet Department to file auto claims directly against

at-fault third-party's insurance carrier to cover first party property damage.Manage and report on TPA's subrogation recovery performance.Coordinate with Operations to investigate, evaluate and respond directly to

minor third-party claims, including denial letters, negotiating

settlements, and executing claim releases.Assist the Director of Risk Management in the management of Third-Party Claims

Administrator (RFP, quarterly claims reviews, claims handling

efficiency, financial analysis).Other duties as assigned.Regular and predictable attendance.Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a

company-designated office or field location.Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards.
