As our Senior Human Resources Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting a full range of Human Resources (HR) activities. You will be expected to be a conceptual thinker with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. It is important that you have excellent administrative, MS Excel, Google Suite, and, HRIS skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment. To ensure success in this role, you should display flexibility, initiative, and strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a deep understanding of HR functions, best practices, data analysis, and reporting. As the Senior Human Resources Operations Specialist, you will be an active member of the HR Team, providing input in the delivery and continuous improvement of a wide array of human resources processes. In this role, you will have experience working within a high-functioning professional team with a focus on elevating our state as an Employer of Choice . Illustration of some of your duties:

HR Functions - Provide general HR administrative support to all key HR team members and to all employees.

Benefits, HRIS, and Systems Support - Accurate and timely data entry and maintenance of personnel and payroll systems. Monitor, audit, and report on actions, updates, and creation.

Rewards and Recognition - Create and manage employee recognition projects for OIT employees. Ensure that certificate awards are created and distributed correctly and on time. Work closely with HR Senior Managers and the Communications staff.

Talent Acquisition Support - Track new hire onboarding processes and offboarding administration. Coordinate New Employee Orientation, and distribute communications to employees and managers. Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Team to support the full cycle recruiting process.

Departmental Communications - Create and manage monthly HR newsletter, and announcements.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsA wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range, occasionally an offer is made below or above the posted range based upon this salary analysis. This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/oreducation (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows: Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience which must include vast experience with Microsoft products.

Experience with HRIS, Google Suite, reporting, and communication tools.

Ability to work autonomously, using independent judgment and discretion to perform tasks in routine and non-routine situations and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Substitutions:

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of human resources methods and best practices, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing employers and employees.

Strong time management, organization, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors.

Conditions of Employment:OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test. This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed. This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.
