Description of JobThe professional in this position works on the Job Evaluation, Compensation & Talent Acquisition Team to provide CPPS and compensation support services to the Department of Revenue. This position is responsible for ensuring HR processes, department policy, State rules and regulations are followed and will support requests from the State Department of Personnel & Administration (DPA) Equity Office as they pertain to classification and compensation. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Classification & Compensation Consultation:

Performs classification analysis on submitted position descriptions.

Maintains the quality and consistency of classification system in the department, by providing guidance to other HR personnel, Hiring Managers, and providing position description audits.

Maintains classification database for the Division and Department, ensuring database integrity and accuracy.

Consolidates data from multiple databases into a single database.

Determines if a compensation request or recommendation meets the criteria of the compensation practice within DOR.

Consults with employees, hiring managers, and appointing authorities on proper and strategic compensation usage to meet their current and future needs.

Data entry into CPPS

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the qualifications: OPTION 1:

Six (6) years of professional experience creating and analyzing job descriptions, compensation or talent acquisition.

OR

OPTION 2:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field as determined by the Department.

Two (2) years of professional experience creating and analyzing job descriptions, compensation or talent acquisition.

OR

OPTION 3:

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Prior CPPS experience

Experience working in a highly confidential environment

Demonstrated strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Conditions of Employment with the CDOR :

Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations .
