Refrigerant & Sealed Systems Repair Technician – Join Our Growing Team in Northern Colorado

Compensation: Flat Rate per Job + Commissions

- Per job rate will be competitive and based upon experience (we want to pay good people well!)

- Work order commissions will be based on job complexity and length

- Refurbished unit and service up-sales are encouraged through additional commissions and sales training

- Exact pay rates will be provided in job offer following interview.

Employment Type: Contract to Full-Time - depending on desire to take on auxiliary appliance repair work orders.

Location: Northern Colorado (flexible job locations throughout the northern front range, including Weld County)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Diagnostic and Repair

Troubleshooting: Identifying malfunctions in sealed systems (refrigerators, freezers, ice makers) using diagnostic tools and techniques.

Leak Detection: Locating and repairing refrigerant leaks using specialized equipment.

System Evacuation and Charging: Removing old refrigerant and recharging systems with the proper type and amount of refrigerant.

Component Replacement: Replacing faulty compressors, condensers, evaporators, or other sealed system components.

Electrical Testing: Checking electrical connections, wiring, and thermostats for proper operation.

Soldering and Brazing: Repairing leaks or replacing components using soldering and brazing techniques.

System Performance Testing: Verifying the proper operation of the repaired system, including temperature and pressure checks.

Consulting and Administrative

Customer Service: Communicating clearly with customers, explaining repairs and providing cost estimates.

Sales Consulting: Walk customers through options and guide them to the best solution for their specific needs.

Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of repairs, parts used, and customer information.

Safety Compliance: Following safe handling procedures for refrigerants and other chemicals.

Professional Development: Staying updated on industry standards, regulations, and new technologies.

Soft Skills

Understanding of Thermodynamics: Knowledge of how heat transfer and refrigerant cycles work.

Electrical and Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.

Problem-Solving Skills: Finding solutions to unexpected challenges and issues.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring repairs are done correctly and thoroughly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

Refrigerant & Sealed Systems Experience: Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration and sealed systems (e.g., refrigerators, freezers, ice makers).

Customer Service & Problem-Solving Skills: Provide excellent service to our customers.

Troubleshooting Skills: Diagnose and repair complex appliance issues effectively.

Own Tools & Knowledge: Possess your own tools and know how to use them (some specialized tools can be provided)

Valid Driver's License & Vehicle (During Training): Reliable transportation is essential.

Important Attributes & Qualifications:

EPA Certification (Preferred): EPA 608 certification is a plus.
