HOURS. Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Additional Hours: weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary to meet the needs of the Town of Berthoud

SUMMARY: The Town of Berthoud has multiple openings for Seasonal Maintenance Workers. This position is under the supervision of the Parks Supervisor and is responsible for all maintenance of the Town park system, facilities, open spaces, trails, and Greenlawn Cemetery. Background in any of the following is preferred but not required: operating commercial grade riding mowers, push mowers, weed trimmers, and backpack blowers. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor. Ability to work safely and efficiently alone or with others. Valid driver’s license required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES

Operates Town vehicles and all equipment such as, but not limited to trucks, utility mules, and mowers.

Performs labor tasks associated with parks including, but not limited to mowing, weed trimming, trash pickup, blowing debris/grass clippings and athletic field prep.

Assists all Public Works Departments.

Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, tune-ups, oil change, etc.

Employ safety practices and procedures.

Maintain an effective and courteous working relationship with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.

Performs the above duties and other duties as assigned by the Parks Department Supervisor or the Public Works Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals and procedure manuals, as well as write reports.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to the public, employees, or Board of Trustees as well as respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and/or complaints.

Math Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
