We are looking for a flexible, handy person to come work on our ranch.
Who we are:
We are a large(almost 24000 acres) private recreational ranch. We are a happening place in the summer with up to 300 people on ranch and The Shining in the winter (only 4-5 employees most of the time). There is always lots to do. We have a great tight knit crew and would love to add one or two more to the mix.
What we would like you to know:
Basics in carpentry, welding, plumbing, flood irrigation, cutting, raking and baling hay and a little horse know how would be helpful
Experience operating equipment
When to use equipment and when you need a shovel
How to deal with people from all walks of life
How to put things back where you find them
How to clean up your mess when you are done
When to stay and be social and when it's time to go home for the day
How to be self motivated
How to make a decision
If you don't know something, ask. Don't do something incorrectly because youre too stubborn to ask for help. Learn from someone else and teach what you know. Sounds simple huh? It's not. My name is Carla and I am the ranch manager out here. It's a big place with lots to do. If you can think on your feet and aren't afraid to work, it's a great place to be. Position comes with a house and all utilities paid. Starting salary is around 35,000. We renegotiate in 90 days. May not sound like much but everyone knows everything until they're here and suddenly it's all forgotten. We don't mind paying if what you can do matches what you say you can do :)
