a commercial construction Preconstruction Manager, we would like to
meet with you!This role is primarily located at our main office in Englewood, CO.Position Duties & Key Responsibilities:Review and approve project quotes as necessary for the entire Estimating &
Preconstruction Department. This includes reviewing and confirming quotes for
materials, labor, equipment, data, and environmental factors.
Understand the different levels of construction design and effectively hold
designers and business partners to the right standards during the appropriate
phases of the preconstruction process.
Establish working relationships with WCG employees, project owners,
subcontractors, suppliers and vendors. Responsible for ensuring best
practices are followed, high quality and consistent services are
delivered, and an exemplary customer service experience is provided by each
project team member.
Manage the preparation of detailed budget estimates (i.e. conceptual,
schematic, design development, and general construction). This includes
supporting the preparation and analysis of cost models for the various phases
of project design and completion.
Assist with the supervision, coordination, and scheduling of the
Preconstruction & Estimating Department.
Responsible for daily reporting of new projects, concerns, and
achievements to the Chief Estimator. This includes conferring with supervisory
personnel, employees, owners, contractors, and/or design
professionals to discuss and resolve matters related to cost changes and
specification adjustments.Position Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or closely related discipline
and 8 years of construction experience or 12 years of experience in
construction estimating without a degree.
Must be familiar with and be willing to use project management control systems
(e.g. scheduling, estimating, cost control, procurement and business
development).
Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office skills including Word,
Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
Possess strong communication and sales skills to secure a client agreement
and/or service.
Experienced in construction layout, blueprint and shop drawing readings.
Exhibits consistent and competent judgement. This includes being able to
address difficult issues with problem-solving techniques and solutions.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data which requires strong
mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Must be able to
present a credible, confident, positive image of oneself and the company
during oral presentations to clients, designers and others.
Must possess technical understandings of architectural, civil,
structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing disciplines.
Ability to consistently deliver accurate and thorough estimates while setting
realistic expectat ons of the company's ability to deliver construction
services.
Demonstrated experience delivering pre-planning and conceptual estimates as
well as accurately and thoroughly forecasting costs.
Proven ability to compile, review, analyze and quote project costs while
effectively managing the full cycle bid process.
Excellent time management, problem solving, decision making, human
relations, presentation and organizational skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Understand and respect the importance of confidentiality.
Possess the passion for construction necessary to generate a consistent
positive work environment and foster collaborative teams with varying styles
and backgrounds.
Must be an innovative problem solver with the ability to generate new ideas,
challenge the status quo, and lead in the direction necessary to capitalize
on old and new opportunities.
Valid Driver's License.
