Legal Assistant

Our client a leading medical malpractice law firm located in Cherry Creek is looking for a 3 plus years strong litigation legal assistant and strong legal word processor to support partners at a very busy practice. We are looking for strong litigation skills, e-filings experience and the state and federal level. This position entails a lot of appellate support work. The 3 plus years litigation legal secretary should type 70wpm, have a strong work history, and have advanced word processing skills. Very important to have knowledge of Table of Authorities and Table of Contents. Proficiency in Rules 16 and 26, docketing, electronic calendaring, medical terminology, and the ability to jump into litigation, and strong attention to detail are required for this position. Litigation Legal Assistant

Our client, a well-established law firm located in Denver, CO, has an immediate need for a Litigation Legal Secretary with 5+ years of law firm and Litigation experience to support their complex commercial litigation practice.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, iManage, Elite, and DocuSign (or similar document management and time entry programs). The ideal candidate will take the initiative, have strong attention to detail, highly organized & has impeccable communication skills. Job duties include but are not limited to:

Must be well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, to include E-Filing in Federal Court.

Pre-trial prep and trial assistance experience required.

Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloads.

Coordinate heavy scheduling and calendaring for attorney meetings, court deadlines, depositions, etc.

Heavy client contact, contact with witnesses and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter.

Document production and organization a must.

Organize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format.

Follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State.

Must demonstrate a strong worth ethic and a consistent schedule.

Drafting pleadings and notices

Preparing exhibits for deposition and trial

eFiling with Colorado state and Federal courts

Calculating deadlines and docketing using electronic calendaring technology

Managing a high-volume caseload with strict deadlines

Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for this position will have 3+ years’ experience supporting civil/commercial litigation attorneys. Candidates should be familiar with Colorado and Federal rules of Civil Procedure; should have experience with Colorado Courts eFiling, Federal courts eFiling, and PACER.
