Senior Accountant - Construction

Unison Builds, LLC seeks an experienced accountant with 7 or more years of experience for our Golden office.

We are a construction and real estate company founded in 2005. We build custom homes, renovate large buildings, and manage apartments. We are migrating most of our operations from Memphis, Tennessee where we have five employees. We are therefore looking for a reliable, experienced, and knowledgeable accountant. You will help oversee key functions of company and report directly to the President.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Finance (60%): Oversee general ledger accounting, including fixed assets and project inventories. Maintain financial records. Handle accounts payable/receivable/customer invoicing (every two weeks). Oversee payroll. Provide accurate WIP reporting and tracking. Perform month-end processes. Timely pay vendors and subs. Manage banking activities, including reconciliations, deposits, and cash flow management. Coordinate with CPA to file tax returns. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to improve performance. Identify cost-saving opportunities. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement, and provide recommendations to management. Track and compile change orders. Oversee daily office operations. Supervise and coordinate with office staff. Organize company events, meetings, birthdays, and travel arrangements.

2. Construction and design management (40%): Communicate with customers. Coordinate efforts with project managers and jobsite superintendents. Accurately handle subcontract preparation, documentation, and monitoring. Review job cost budgeting, costing, and reporting. Help prepare and edit accurate project estimates and budgets. Perform or delegate administrative tasks specific to different sites. Assist with material ordering, visit job sites, and arranging pickups and deliveries, job site visits.

Requirements / About You:

· 7+ years’ experience

· "Gedder-Done" attitude

· Proven experience in accounting.

· You’ve managed small teams of employees.

· Construction accounting background strongly desired

· Excellent communication skills with bankers, subcontractors, owners, insurers, and other people who are key to our business.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact and work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.

· Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

· Strong organizational and time management abilities

· High level of integrity and professionalism

· Working knowledge of Spanish preferred
