Use your journey-level industrial electrical expertise to support the efforts in maintaining clean water for beautiful Colorado Springs.In this job you will be responsible for:

Installing, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining all electrical equipment associated with Water/Wastewater collection and water distribution systems including:

480-volt Motor Control Centers (MCCs)

Medium Voltage Motor Control Centers electrical and controls equipment up to 4160 volts Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

Instrumentation loops and motor start/stop controls

Designing and installing new electrical service equipment and control systems as needed Performing all relevant preventative maintenance

Using test equipment to check the functionality and calibration of electrical main circuit breakers

Maintaining and updating electrical schematics, blueprints, and as-built drawings Documenting work orders, work plans, and technical advances

Providing technical guidance to peers

Complying with the safety and health program in support of an incident and injury-free workplace

What does it take to be successful in this position? While most people in this occupation would have completed a certified Department of Labor Electrical Apprentice program and hold a Journey Level Electrician license the successful candidate will have journey-level commercial/industrial electrical experience.A valid, non-restricted Driver's License is required for this position.In addition, we are most interested in your experience with the following so be sure to highlight it on your application and/or resume:

Knowledge of the National Electric Code Knowledge of NFPA-70E guidelines

PLC programming, installation, and troubleshooting preferred

Experience installing and troubleshooting low and medium-voltage Motor Control Centers

Programming, installing, and troubleshooting Variable Frequency DrivesSolid State and Relay Motor Controls (MCC) experience

Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems and motor control circuits

Skilled in performing inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial electrical systems

Knowledge of Instrumentation theories, installation, and communication loops

Basic computer knowledge in Excel and Word

Interpersonal and communication skills as applied to interactions with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public
