Position:Director Information Technology, Global Business IntelligenceJob Description:
The Director Information Technology, Global Business Intelligence will lead a global team of 40+ engineers focused on developing and executing BI and Data strategy for Arrow's Global Components businesses. This position will report into the VP CIO of Global Components/Supply Chain and will own all BI reporting along with driving the strategy for data architecture and engineering.What You Will Be Doing:- Building and driving a unified business intelligence strategy globally to provide a framework for the organization to leverage the intelligence across the multiple businesses and systems in use to enable smarter decision making
- Establish best of breed processes and standards for BI solutions
- Partner with the business to standardize data definitions to help the organization measure metrics consistently
- Align on an architectural roadmap for BI in Arrow and build processes, systems, and tools to facilitate the analysis of data while overseeing data governance
- Review current dashboards, tools, reports, and metrics and build a strategy to move to one or few platforms and decide solution consolidation and tool retirement strategies
- Partner with the business and operations teams in developing strategies for improvement and manage escalations that require coordination across departments.
- Lead and grow a global team of BI experts to partner with application teams to delivery actionable insights, dashboards, analytics and reports
- Collaborate with multiple internal partners like other application teams, DBA, Infrastructure, Networking, IT Risk, Internal Audit, Logistics, etc. to establish strategic plans, meet critical objectives and identify & solve issues.
- Ensure employees are positioned for success by providing coaching, guidance and championing performance and development opportunities.
- Foster a nimble culture to improve business outcomes using IT methodologies that work
- Demonstrate technical proficiency by providing high level guidance to internal business and staff.
- Ensure budgets, resources and schedules meet corporate requirements and annual milestones by adhering to financial and budgetary standards.
- Direct, monitor and mentor on methodology, tools, templates, standards, policies, and procedures. Lead all aspects of vendor management for tools within BI including selection, negotiation, dispute resolution, and long-term relationship management.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key suppliers, outsource partners and vendors on a global basis both internal and external and ensure organizational goals and needs are met.
- Stay up to date with new technologies, concepts, and trends to revise the roadmap and strategies outlined annually
- Requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a 4-year degree; or 12 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in BI within large organizations expected
- Incident management and ability to enforce sensible security practices expected
- Knowledge of technology platforms and interdependencies with hardware and software platforms used in similar organizations
- Strong leadership skills as a change agent using influence and inspiration in addition to developing multi-disciplined work teams
- Ability to work across multiple levels of the organization from developers to senior leadership and spanning both business and IT teams that support BI and Reporting operationally
- Ability to create white papers that clearly state the advantages and ROI for new technology investments
- Proven process improvement capabilities demonstrating the ability to proactively identify problems and recommend solutions
- Strong customer-oriented approach and ability to influence others to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction
- Expertise in tools like Microsoft Power BI, Azure, Tableau, Informatica, or MicroStrategy strongly preferred
- High level of autonomy, self-motivation, and resourcefulness
- Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation
- Requires the ability to influence and manage across IT Groups and geographies working with many different ERP systems, vendors, and consulting partners with various complexities
