Our client a leading local law firm in Boulder seeks a 5 plus years litigation associate attorney admitted to practice in Colorado who exercises independent judgment and discretion to join our growing litigation practice group.The ideal candidate will be a high performer with between 5+ years of significant experience in general litigation-specializing in civil litigation. The candidate would have experience in managing a litigation caseload (from beginning to end). Experience drafting legal documents, such as motions, briefs and discovery requests. Experience conducting research on legal issues associated with the case. Experience taking/defending depositions, handling hearings, and trial/arbitration. Experience with e-discovery platforms. The Attorney should have 3 plus years of experience as a practicing attorney in the area of municipal, local government and special districts law, real property, contracts, public utilities operations or regulation, employment law, risk management, legislation, and public finance, and/or prior experience as a judicial law clerk or government law clerk researching local government issues. The ideal candidate will have 3 plus years' experience in a law firm or government position working on matters related to Title 32 special districts; municipalities; business improvement districts; public utilities; or county and state government. We will consider other comparable experience, such as land use; real estate; public/private partnerships; employment law; and public finance. The ideal Attorney would be responsible for handling a broad range of legal matters involving municipal, local government and special district law. Work involves research, writing, and applying legal knowledge and skills to various municipal and special district matters, including land use and real estate transactions, public finance, and intergovernmental agreements. Assignments are generally performed within an established procedural framework and/or directed by the Partners. Availability for evening meetings and travel within Colorado is required. The firm is dedicated to American Indian tribes and organizations. We are looking for an associate with 2 plus years of experience with the representation of tribes and tribal entities in a wide spectrum of services including business transactions, litigation, and governmental affairs in many forums, including state, federal and tribal courts. We are seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in tribal and federal Indian law for their office. Experience working with Indian tribes or tribal entities on a wide array of legal issues such as business transitions, housing, education, finance, gaming, government affairs, litigation, energy, natural resources and taxation is highly preferred. Practice experience with tribal and federal Indian law is required. We do require licensed attorneys that are ideally licensed in Colorado or in any other state jurisdiction.
