Intellectual Property Specialist

The Denver office of a leading national law firm is currently seeking a 5 plus years IP Specialist to support their busy Patent department. The patent Specialist should have knowledge of filing with the USPTO. Ability and willingness to participate as part of a devoted team of patent specialists, paralegals, docketers, and attorneys. Comprehensive knowledge of both domestic and foreign intellectual property processes and policies (specifically: utility patents, design patents, and trademarks). Comprehensive knowledge of the different types of IP databases (ePCT, USPTO, Espacenet, WIPO, etc). The IP Specialist will be tracking and managing IP dockets and deadline via CPi and PATTSY. The patent specialist will be handling administrative duties and will be responsible for billing 750 hours per year. Litigation Paralegal

Our client, a very prestigious law firm located in Bouder is looking for a 7 plus years commercial litigation paralegal to support their very busy practice group.

Responsibilities will include:

Prepare, organize, and draft legal documents.

Experience creating and editing documents, such as motions, pleadings, disclosures, depositions, and other litigation documents.

Experience in taking a case from initial contact through trial preparation and completion.

Filing documents with courts and other required parties.

Conduct research and compile case information.

Organize, review, and manage all case files and deadlines.

Assist attorneys and clients by obtaining necessary documents.

Review and organize case documents.

Maintain and update client electronic files.

Assist attorneys by managing all case organization, calendaring, appointments, and case deadlines.

Assist attorneys with organizing meetings with witnesses and legal experts.

Draft and manage correspondence for attorneys.

Draft and compose all communications.

Ensure appropriate attachments are included in the correspondence.

Prepare letters, memos, and other communications.

Work with clients to obtain documents and set up appointments.

10+ years’ experience as a civil litigation paralegal or related experience is required for this position.

Excellent research and writing skills.

Strong review and proof-reading skills of legal documents.

Excellent attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent organizational and administrative skills.

Experience with electronic trial management software preferred.
