Hello!
Dharma Gates 501(c)(3) non-profit is looking to hire a plant-based chef to be the Lead Cook for our upcoming retreat in the mountains outside Denver: Dharma-Gates.org/Silent-Illumination.
The Chef will be given free room and board for 8 nights, and also be able to attend the teachings given by our meditation teacher and be a participant in the retreat whenever they are not cooking. The Lead Cook will have two experienced Assistant Cooks that will help out between two and four hours per day as well as labor from the participants of the retreat to do dishes, clean and prep. You will be given your own private room in a beautiful retreat center for 8 nights of the retreat.
Ideal candidate will have experience on both silent Buddhist meditation retreats as well as cooking/catering for large groups. If it goes well there is the opportunity for repeated employment!
The goal is for this Chef to also be able to sit the retreat, and get something out of the experience beyond the service of Cooking.
