Greens Point Catering is looking to hire an individual for the Pastry Chef position. The Pastry program at Greens Point has proven highly successful after its start in 2022 and we are looking for someone with a passion for desserts, pastries, and cakes to contribute to its success with ideas, recipes and style.
The position requires:
● Strong baking skills to meet large volume demands.
● 5 day work week 40 hours per week with potential for overtime
● Ability to create beautiful and uniformly decorated products.
● Experience and knowledge in basic cake, cookie, quick breads, mini dessert, tarts/pies and some plated dessert preparations.
● Positive attitude and teamwork oriented mindset.
● Ordering and sourcing to keep up with production needs.
● Strong communication skills.
● Contributing to savory preparations when pastry demand are low, and consulting the Executive Chef when pastry list is complete to provide assistance for them.
● Maintaining clean and organized work areas and storage.
● Flexible schedule and contribution on busy days when needed.
Compensation is hourly based on experience and work performance; compensation between $20-30 per hour depending on experience and ability with opportunity for bonuses and promotion.
Schedule once fully trained will be ideally early morning (generally 6 am - 3 pm), but will need flexibility during the busy season. Looking to fulfill Tuesday-Saturdays.
