Greens Point Catering is looking to hire an individual to assume the Executive Pastry Chef position. The Pastry program at Greens Point has proven highly successful after its start in 2022 and we are looking for someone with a passion for desserts, pastries, and cakes to contribute to its success with ideas, recipes and style.
The position requires:
Strong baking skills to meet large volume demands.
Minimum 50-55 hour work week.
Ability to create beautiful and uniformly decorated products.
Experience and knowledge in basic cake, cookie, quick breads, mini dessert, tarts/ pies and some plated dessert preparations.
Ability to manage daily and weekly prep schedules.
Positive attitude and teamwork-oriented mindset.
Menu construction and assessment Skills.
Recipe and idea contribution.
Ordering and sourcing to keep up with production needs.
Strong communication skills.
Contributing to savory preparations when pastry demand are low, and consulting the Executive Chef when pastry list is complete to provide assistance for them.
Maintaining clean and organized work areas and storage.
Flexible schedule and contribution on busy days when needed.
Drive to evolve with the needs of the program.
Compensation is salary based on experience and work performance, starting between 55k with opportunity for bonuses.
Schedule once fully trained will be ideally early morning (generally 6 am - 3 pm), but will need flexibility during the busy season. Looking to fulfill Tuesday-Saturdays. Off season schedule will vary, but has the opportunity to enjoy life at a slower pace.
