The overall approach to the study of wellness in the Crown Institute foregrounds the importance of contextual factors and addresses disparities in access to health and education, such as those related to gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, language, geography, or other forms of identity. Current areas of Crown Institute work include but are not limited to participatory action research with Latinx families, mindfulness and compassion among educators and youth, and factors that support young peoples sense of belonging and agency in communities and schools. Future research may build upon existing areas of research in the Crown Institute or may explore new areas not currently represented. Our founding team brings together faculty from the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience in the College of Arts and Sciences and faculty from the School of Education.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeGeneral HR Coordination and Tracking

Stay abreast of University HR policies and procedures.

Assist in the development and implementation of HR practices, policies and procedures for the Crown Institute in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Finance and HR and Director of Finance to create and maintain standard operating procedures.

Maintain personnel files for all employees for organizing hire paperwork, appointment modifications, and following retention policies.

Complete data entry in the HR system and ensure data in the systems is accurate.

Track appointment end dates for all personnel and complete necessary paperwork and to extend or terminate appointments, process promotion requests and position changes.

Conduct Employee Leave reconciliation/audits as necessary to ensure accurate leave accrual for staff.

Gather and provide HR updates for internal Crown Institute announcements.

Work with ISSS to recommend appropriate documents needed for international scholars. Process visa paperwork for international research faculty as necessary.

Payroll

Send out monthly and biweekly reminders for employees to complete payroll activities.

Review and upload monthly and biweekly timesheets for processing in the leave tracking system (MyLeave).

Run Monthly Funding Distribution report.

Process payments (student stipends) for existing personnel and collaborators.

Collaborate with other units as necessary.

Recruitment Support

Work with the Assistant Director of Finance & HR on recruitment and selection processes for vacant positions in Crown Institute including temporary, student, research faculty, and staff appointments.

Guide recruitment and selection process using CU, state, and departmental guidelines.

Ensure all necessary paperwork and personnel actions are submitted and processed promptly (i.e., background checks, I-9, payroll, benefits, etc.

Assist with drafting offer letters, route for approval and submit hire request to Human Resources Service Center for processing in HCM.

Onboarding/Offboarding

Assist with the Crown Institute Onboarding of temporary and student workers. Train new hires on reporting leave requests, timesheets and payroll processes.

Assist with Off-Boarding of exiting employees, exiting checklists and Leave Audit requests.

Graduate Appointments

Collaborate with other departments to determine policy and standard methodologies for graduate student appointments.

Determine appropriate sources of funding and institute education staff and faculty.

Coordinate with the Graduate School for overload petitions.

Manage the Graduate research appointments, appointment letters and necessary paperwork.

Prepare Graduate Student spreadsheets to submit hire requests to Human Resource Service Center.

Professional Level 1: $48,000 - $55,000

Professional Level 2: $56,000 - $63,000

Professional Level 1: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience that can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the degree.

Professional Level 2: Bachelor's Degree and one year of human resources or closely related experience or equivalent combination of education and professional experience that can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the degree.
