The mission of the department is to provide a safe physical environment that promotes the advancement and transfer of knowledge.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeCustomer Service and Service Requests
Monitor FAMIS for incoming web requests. Monitor Outlook for incoming emails requiring action. Handle and log Housing and Dining requests when their department is closed. Answer incoming calls to assist internal and external customers via phone. Handle walk-in customers' requests. Receive information, prioritize, log and route maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel, including to Facilities Shop Technicians, Housing and Dining, Athletics, specific building maintenance crews, CUPD, and Contractors. Communicate with customers to determine details and priority of service requests. Within the service request, provide accurate and complete information, including location, billing, nature of issue, and special circumstances such as availability, contact information, and updates.
Monitor Fire Alarm Systems for Campus Buildings
Monitor Simplex and Notifier computers for fire alarms, trouble alarms and supervisory alarms. Acknowledge alarms and relay information by paging, using direct emergency lines and telephones to staff, shop personnel, and University of Colorado Police Department (CUPD). Log all information pertaining to alarms on electronic log sheet and fire alarm log sheet. If necessary, initiate service request via ReADY and AiM. Depending on the priority of the alarm, determine appropriate personnel to contact after hours.
Monitor Andover Environmental Alarms for All Campus Buildings
Monitor and acknowledge all environmental alarms, including air handling units, cooling towers, air conditioning units, controlled temperature rooms, exhaust fans, return fans and chilled water pumps. Evaluate the type of alarm and contact the appropriate personnel regarding critical or emergency situations. If necessary, initiate service request using FAMIS. Depending on the priority of the alarm, determine appropriate personnel to contact after hours.
Technician Service Call Training and Onsite Evaluation
Go out into the field alongside Trades personnel to better understand the nature of service calls, campus geography, and building systems. Assist with service calls, including troubleshooting to find the root cause. When staffing allows, go out into the field after hours to assess a service request onsite to determine appropriate priority and personnel response.
Equipment Data Entry
Perform entry, cataloging, and auditing of equipment (EQ) data to build and maintain an equipment database that feeds critical information about building equipment type and location to the OCC, the Work Process Manager, and the Trades work units at large. Within this function, may also go into the field to affix EQ barcode stickers to building equipment.
As an essential services employee, respond to other duties as assigned on an "as needed" basis; this may also include alternative work schedules.
What You Should Know
This is an in-person, permanent third-shift position. Normal working hours are Monday - Friday from 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.
This role is eligible for our Facilities Management Employee Referral Program .
This position serves a 24/7 work unit, and while the regular schedule is a 40-hour week (5 8-hour shifts each week), the role is expected to work additional hours as needed to maintain 24/7 coverage to the campus.
What We Can Offer
The annual salary range for this position is $47,000 - $51,480. This third-shift position is eligible for a 14% shift differential and on-call pay.
If you have prior state-classified experience in the same class series as this position, your pay may be set at a higher amount per the state Step Pay Program implemented on July 1, 2024.
