Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Tax Preparer to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This role involves preparing individual tax returns in accordance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as maintaining and protecting client confidentiality. Flexible work schedule! Can work part time or full time on-site and set you own hours. Client provides collaborative, supportive, team environment with snacks too! Responsibilities: Preparation of individual tax returns adhering to federal, state, and local tax laws. Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information and documents for tax preparation. Use tax software to calculate taxes owed or overpaid, and identify potential deductions and credits. Provide advice to clients on potential tax liabilities, legal complications, and potential deductions/credits. Stay informed about tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Promptly and efficiently resolve client complaints or issues to ensure client satisfaction. Provide tax planning advice to clients as needed. Utilize skills in Accounting Functions, Customer Service, Data Entry, Bookkeeping, and Tax Preparation. Use CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax software proficiently.Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax software Strong knowledge of accounting functions and principles Exceptional customer service skills Ability to perform accurate data entry tasks Experience in bookkeeping practices Proven track record in preparing taxes Certification as a Tax Preparer or equivalent qualification Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure during tax season Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
