Full Time - Hourly Position

Year Round School

We are a play-based preschool, which is open to children of all backgrounds, all religions or those having no spiritual or religious basis. Our preschool is open to children from 2.5 to 5 years of age. The Director works closely with the Preschool Board of Directors, Pastor, Administrative Director, staff and parents.

Job Duties

A love of working with children – To help us creative a warm and loving environment, in which children are safe to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically through a variety of activities at their own pace.

Plan, organize, direct, manage and supervise programs for the preschool and facilitate positive relations among the Preschool Staff, Parents, Preschool Board, Pastor and Administrative Director. This position requires strong supervisory, leadership, communication and organizational skills with a warm and nurturing disposition.

Works with Administrative Director to conduct parent tours and prepare annual registration documents for enrollment.

Responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the facility, per the State of California Department of Social Services Title 22 mandates.

Ensure that the buildings comply with local, state and federal laws.

Perform daily facility inspections to ensure any safety hazards are corrected immediately.

Conducts monthly fire, earthquake and lock down drills. Maintain a drill log for D.S.S. Inspection.

Works with D.S.S during the annual inspection of the facility.

Maintains student records in accordance with Title 22.

Leads and supports staff through teamwork and mutual respect to achieve individual and classroom goals.

Ensure that all classes are within ratio on a daily basis.

Conducts tours of the facility to prospective families.

Registers incoming students by following the policies of admissions listed in the Guideline Booklet.

Follows the schools protocols listed in the Employee Handbook as well as the Guideline Booklet.

Monthly attendance of all Staff and Board meetings. (Board currently meets at 4:30 p.m.; Staff at 6:00 pm once a month).

Works closely with staff to prepare and develop curriculum on a month-to-month basis.

Organization and participation in the preschool special events.

Train and supervise new staff members.

Monitor staff performance and provide support.

Mediate minor disagreements independently.

Arrange for substitute help in the event of the absence of a staff member.

Provide back-ups for all classrooms.

Monitor playground time. Ensure that all children are being properly supervised and adhering to the staff to child ratios.

Prepare monthly snack menus and ensures necessary groceries and supplies are on hand.

Ensures that the preschool has a sufficient amount of snack items and water in the event of an emergency.

Schedule staff work hours to ensure the preschool has proper coverage at all times.

Works closely with Administrative Director to ensure that the preschool is stocked with required supplies at all times.

Assists teachers with children who are in need of special attention.

Follows all CDC and VCDPH protocols and ensures that all staff follows these as well.

Able to establish new policies and procedures as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred and/or the required certification as a Site Director or Supervisor. This must include three semester units of Administration or Staff Relations and four years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center.

Requirements:

Must meet all requirements for the State of California Community Care Licensing Division including D.O.J Clearance.

Must have a complete understanding of State of California Title 22 mandates

First Aid and CPR Certification

Strong communications skills with parents and staff members

Ability to work independently

Commitment to professionalism at all times

Must show initiative and responsibility to ensure the safety of the preschoolers and staff.
