Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to join our team as a Hospital Credentialing Specialist. This vital role focuses primarily on initial credentialing, ensuring all practitioners joining our organization meet the stipulated regulatory, accreditation, and certification standards. You will work closely with various departments within our organization to ensure the seamless onboarding of new healthcare practitioners, promoting the overall quality of care provided at our institution.Responsibilities:
Perform primary source verifications for all practitioner applications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing files for all practitioners.
Manage the practitioners’ credentials reappointment process.
Submit completed applications to medical, dental, and other relevant boards for final approval.
Communicate the status of applications with relevant hospital personnel.
Work closely with other departments to process completed applications in a timely manner.
Ensure all practitioners comply with established regulations and standards.
Respond to verification requests about practitioner credentials.
Keep up-to-date with reforms/changes in healthcare laws and regulations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline credential verification processes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
At least 2-3 years experience in healthcare credentialing preferred.
Familiarity with Joint Commission, NCQA, and CMS standards.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience with credentialing databases and systems.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
