Medical Billing Specialist

Position: Medical Billing Specialist We are looking for a Billing Specialist to join the team! The Billing Specialist assists in maintaining the billing systems and reports to the Revenue Cycle Director. Logistics: On-site role in Stockton, CA 9 Months Contract-to-Hire $23-24/hr. Responsibilities:

Verifies claim status and appeal to insurance companies when needed.

Verifies member eligibility through web portal or by contacting the insurance companies directly.

Handles incoming patient and insurance calls.

Processes insurance claims and patient statements in a timely manner.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and/or 1 year of billing experience.

Billing certificate is highly preferred

Strong 10-key

Ability to type 35 WPM

Knowledge of computerized medical or dental billing systems.

Preference given to candidates that are bilingual in Spanish & English

Knowledge and experience utilizing medical terminology, ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT codes
