Private company based out of Paso Robles specializing in agricultural \ industrial engines and engine applications is looking for a diesel mechanic to rebuild and service engines. We’re looking for someone who’s reliable and self-driven who can function independently with minimal oversight.
Candidates should have at least two years of experience building diesel engines and possess the knowledge and ability to research parts, order parts or make quality shop recommendations in-regards to engine maintenance. Engine makes commonly utilized in our applications are Cummins and Caterpillar operating on natural gas and diesel fuel.
We are looking for an experienced diesel mechanic to tear-down and rebuild these engines as-well-as perform field service and maintenance. Experience with Cummins 855 engines is a plus. Responsibilities include but are not limited to tearing down diesel engines (4 liters to 14 liters) to repair \ rebuild rotating assemblies, short blocks, long blocks, valve jobs and packaging engines for sale or lease.
Other duties include the ability to maintain a current driver’s license and operate a service vehicle, traveling to various locations along the central coast to service and repair engines in the field.
Other skills desirable, but not required upon hire are familiarization with Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) and Cummins INSITE software applications. Welding (MIG) and fabricating experience would also be a plus.
