We’re a fraternity at Cal Poly looking for a reliable and organized part-time cook to prepare dinners for approx 20 members, Sunday through Thursday nights during the school year. Meals are casual, nutritious, and served as a group each night.
Details:
Schedule: 5 days/week (Sun–Thurs evenings)
Hours: 2.5–3 hrs/night (approx. 12–15 hrs/week)
Pay: Starting at $18/hr, may increase with experience
Location: Near Cal Poly Campus
Start Date: Fall Quarter 2025
Responsibilities:
Plan a weekly dinner menu (5 meals/week) with help from the Commissary exec
Shop for or submit ingredient lists in advance (we provide the budget/grocery run)
Prepare and cook each dinner using the fraternity kitchen (this is a professional kitchen set up designed to be able to feed 20+ people)
Work with a rotating kitchen crew to serve and clean up after meals
Maintain basic kitchen cleanliness and follow food safety standards
Requirements:
Experience cooking for medium groups (doesn’t have to be professional)
California Food Handler’s Permit
Punctual, dependable, and able to communicate with student leadership
Respectful of dietary restrictions and preferences
