Now Hiring: Extended Care Elementary Support Teacher
We are seeking a caring and responsible individual to serve as an Extended Care Elementary Support Teacher. This position involves assisting the Lead Extended Care Teacher in the supervision and management of a group of children ages 6–12. The ideal candidate is perceptive, fun, and able to maintain a safe and professional environment for both children and staff.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22 per hour
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 2:30-5:15
This is approximately a 10-month position (August 25, 2025 through June 5, 2026) aligned with the academic school year, with the opportunity for renewal each year.
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience working with elementary-aged children
Has no prior criminal record (a requirement to work with children in California)
Fingerprint clearance required
Has a current negative TB test (or is willing to obtain one before the start date)
Is legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and administrators
Professional demeanor and a nurturing attitude
Ability to provide leadership and consistency in the Extended Care program
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assist the Lead Extended Care Teacher in planning, supervising, and implementing daily activities in alignment with school policies and philosophy
Ensure the health, safety, and emotional well-being of the children in your care
Adapt programming to meet the individual needs, interests, developmental levels, and personalities of the children
Be sensitive to each child's cultural and socioeconomic background
Support the children in learning group norms and positive behavior expectations
Maintain an organized, clean, and engaging environment for extended care
Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities including arts, games, and imaginative play
Attend all required staff meetings and trainings
Supervise and lead closing duties until the program ends at 5:00 PM
