Office Administrator/Accountant
Year-round, part-time position
$25-30/hour
Office Administrator Responsibilities
Onsite 16 hours/week (Tue-Fri, 10am-2pm)
Microsoft Office Suite, esp. Word and Publisher
Google Docs
Support and facilitate social media presence
Actively participate in all administrative functions, ensuring smooth operation.
Oversee all front office procedures and functions.
Provide administrative support to pastor.
Welcome visitors, answer phones, respond to emails, assist members, and interact with vendors with kindness and professionalism.
Effectively communicate with staff, members, and the church body as a whole.
Coordinate office and facilities calendars, including vendors, groups, janitorial, and outside users.
Manage, edit, and print weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter.
Assist in producing flyers, inserts, and bulletin board items.
Manage office supplies and inventory.
Order for boards/committees when requested/approved.
Process connects cards, visitor cards, prayer request, name tags, membership, databases, etc.
Proficient in Canva or and/or similar visual communication programs
Experience with graphic/digital design a plus
Accounting Responsibilities
8-10 hours month, except Jan-Feb: 16-20 hours/month
Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, Chrome, mobile payment services
Church or Non-Profit experience
Maintain accounting for Plymouth’s general operations, pledges and donations, and rental properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger/budget, and bank reconciliations
o Review deposits, review and approve disbursements, and issue checks weekly
o Review and issue monthly financial reports to be presented to Session by the Treasurer of Session
o Monitor PayPal/mobile sites for donation receipts
o Weekly review of email for electronic bills
o Annual insurance audit for workman’s comp
o Substantiate Credit Card use with receipts
o Review and record weekly contributions and supporting documentation by members/ individuals of the congregation. Issue Statements of Contributions to members/individuals periodically
o Participate in development of annual budget in consultation with church leadership
o Manage all AR and AP
o Process payroll bi-monthly for all church staff
o Annual compilation of members’ current pledge fulfillments and future pledge forecasting
