On-Site Lead Carpenter
Job Description
Primary Tasks
Execute high quality workmanship and professionalism on all projects
Own the project budget, code correctly, and course correct as necessary to ensure the profitability of each project
Identify all changes to scope of project, and obtain approval to proceed
Hold subcontractors accountable to complete their entire scope of work on schedule
Work with all crew members on-site to create efficient and safe environment (Breaks, lunch, start and stops on time, consistent with companywide policies).
Maintain friendly communication with clients, as necessary, to keep them informed of on-site conditions and 2-week projected work update
Scheduling/Tracking
Maintain two-week schedule and regularly update D/B-Manager
Project internal field resources required on site two weeks into the future
Maintain accurate records of subcontractors and tracking of back charges
Knowledge and time coordination of all Building Department issues. Anticipation, control and tracking of all inspections
Develop and control efficient delivery schedule of materials to site. (Clear all dump truck and driver scheduling through D/B Manager)
Routine review of all crew timecard reporting
Assist D/B Manager with Submittals and RFI’s
Review subcontracts with D/B Manager- Contract and Change Order clarifications
Tracking of company owned equipment and tools. Coordinate use and return to Storage Facility, in conjunction with D/B Manager
Track and organize all build documentation (drawings, photographs, warrantee information, product manuals)
Jobsite & Safety
Maintain highest standards of job site safety (individual site risks and OSHA requirements)
Protection of the client’s property and adjacent property not involved in the work
Protection of finished parts of the work
Set up and maintenance of job site office area
Fire protection
Cleanliness of job siteDebris collection and off-haul management
Review and approval of shop drawings
As built drawing documentation-Photography and documentation of all underground items
