We are seeking a Journey Level Carpenter that shares our passion for excellent work and the desire to build all components of a custom home from formwork to finish.
Position Overview:
The Journey Level Carpenter takes direction from Lead Carpenters and the Superintendent and performs tasks as directed. Journey Level Carpenters are expected to have the tools and knowledge to efficiently and effectively perform a variety of tasks including protection, concrete formwork, framing, window and door hanging, cabinetry install, and finish trim.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety
The Journey Level Carpenter is responsible for knowing and following all Company Safety Policies and any Site Specific Safety Protocols, this includes identifying and reporting any concerns regarding the safety of the active construction site to immediate supervisors.
Quality
The Journey Level Carpenter shall have a well-rounded understanding and ability to perform layout, protection, concrete formwork, framing, window and door hanging, cabinetry install, finish trim and other miscellaneous carpentry related tasks with limited direction. All work shall be performed to the highest possible standard of fit and finish.
Development
The Journey Level Carpenter shall, as a part of the annual performance review, identify areas that require self-improvement (i.e: Door and Window Hardware Install and Maintenance or Efficient Formwork Construction) and shall seek opportunities to enhance their skills.
Communication
The Journey Level Carpenter shall verbally report any job related concerns, questions, or feedback to the Site Superintendent.
Other duties as needed or required. This position requires the ability to navigate and work on uneven terrain, and the Journey Level Carpenter will be expected to safely climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects frequently and work in outdoor weather conditions.
