Looking for an experienced handyman with property management skills to maintain multi-family dwellings in the Bay Area. Willing to work independently to facilitate a fast turnover on residential/apartment unit vacancies. Must be good at coordinating and lining up vendors right away once a tenant gives 30 days notice to vacate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience in maintenance or construction a must
- Work with the maintenance team or outside vendors to perform needed work on vacant units.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to listen to tenants' needs
- Coordinate all move-ins and move-outs
- Complete move-out inspections for vacating units
- Coordinate access to units when requested by the Property Manager
- Leasing: Give tours and find new tenants to fill vacant spaces once the tenant gives 30 days notice
- Ensure that there are no habitability issues present in the buildings
- Work with the higher management/owners to ensure the timely and successful completion of all unit renovations and improvements.
MAINTENANCE/CONSTRUCTION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Experienced in apartment maintenance with excellent troubleshooting and fixing skills
- Minor electrical work (changing outlets, troubleshooting problems, etc.)
- Must have own tools, computer, etc.
- Plumbing (changing faucets, fixing clogged sinks, broken disposals, etc.)
- Installing appliances
- General maintenance
- Coordinating vendors onsite as needed
- Must have a work truck or van.
SKILLS:
- Personable and great communicator
- Creative: adds value to the property
- Computer skills: experience using Excel, Microsoft Word, PDF documents, Google Meet, Zoom, etc.
- Ability to learn and be proficient on property management software Buildium
- Organized and detail oriented
- Self driven: takes initiative to make sure all apartments stay full and is quick to respond to maintenance requests
Compensation:
-General handyman duties with some property management work (10-15 hours/week)
