OVERVIEW:
Provide technical support for various small companies in the San Francisco Bay Area via phone, onsite, or e-mail. This role is client-facing and requires the highest level of customer service and professionalism. The position starts on a part-time basis (24 hours a week, Monday through Friday) and may lead to full-time.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Actively answer support calls, service requests, resolve problems with computers, printers, Cloud servers, and applications like MS Office suite
Setup a PC/Mac/NAS/Firewall/Switch/Server/VoIP out of box and deliver to clients, following detailed procedures
Moves/Adds/Changes such as creating AD user accounts, on/offboard users
Troubleshoot other network issues with assistance from our remote server engineers or vendors
You will be the primary onsite resource traveling to client sites to resolve issues as needed
Creating service tickets showing time entries, documenting root cause and detailed resolution.
Creating How To documents internally and for clients
REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills and phone/e-mail etiquette
Troubleshooting hardware and software in a Windows environment and a few Mac computers
Must be comfortable replacing internal hardware on a desktop/laptop computer as well as printers
Basic networking skills, including an understanding of TCP/IP networks, servers, switches, WiFi
We ask that candidates please be able to safely lift, move and carry boxes, computers, monitors, etc. weighing up to fifty (50) pounds without assistance. And walk, climb, stand, stoop, bend at the waist, reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally lift and carry sufficiently to perform tasks
Must have reliable transportation
Possession of a valid CA Driver’s License. Candidates must provide and maintain a good motor vehicle driving record
Work weekends or afterhours when necessary
Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft related is preferred but not required
