The Laboratory Technician will work with and report to the Principal Scientist. The purpose of the position is to handle wet-laboratory tasks necessary for production of the Company’s flow cytometer products and for research and development in related technologies. The main functions of the job concern production and research and development activities, including but not limited to:
preparing cell samples for analysis:
thaw/refreeze, stain, fix, dilute/concentrate, titrate;
running samples and control materials on commercial flow cytometers and our prototype analyzers:
properly setting detector gains (running voltrations);
properly setting stain levels (running titrations);
properly setting flow parameters (particle concentrations, sample stream dimensions, flow rates);
analyzing cell and microsphere data using FCS Express and our own proprietary software;
maintaining and troubleshooting in-house analyzers (Kinetic River R&D prototypes):
mixing/filling sheath fluid, emptying waste, cleaning flowcell regularly, handling bubbles and clogs;
aligning laser beams to sample stream, aligning detectors;
maintaining stock and updating various laboratory inventories (samples, controls, chemicals, components);
executing experimental and production tests;
performing benchmark measurements on ZetaView Nanoparticle Tracking Analyzer;
documenting test findings and procedures.
The successful candidate will be a quick learner, motivated individual with at least 2 years’ experience running cell assays on flow cytometers. The position will provide the candidate with a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on an innovative company, with 24 issued patents, dedicated to advancing biomedical research. This is an in-person office/lab setting, not remote situation.
Qualifications:
(REQUIRED) authorized to work in the United States
(REQUIRED) 3+ years’ experience with sample analysis in a life science laboratory
(REQUIRED) 2+ years’ experience in flow cytometry
(highly desired) BA or equivalent in biology or similar field
(highly desired) 1+ year experience with NTA
(desired) 2+ years’ experience with FCS Express
(desired) experience with optics
(desired) experience with fluidics

Salary range:
$35.00 – $45.00/hr., plus benefits. Compensation commensurate with experience.
