Bay Area Arborist Cooperative, Inc. is looking for a part-time Operations & HR manager.
Schedule: 24-30 hours per week
Location: San Francisco, hybrid work may be discussed – the position IS NOT fully remote.
Compensation: Hourly position, $45 to $55/hr depending on experience.

Who we Are:
A Cooperative of local arborists with headquarters in West Portal. Currently there are 10 Member/Directors and about 40 employees. We specialize in tree trimming for commercial, residential and city projects around the Bay Area.
About the job:
In this role you’ll be running the main office for the cooperative. This job requires a keen attention to detail, the ability to multitask and prioritize, and excellent communication skills.
You’ll work with the directors of the cooperative but also be the point of contact for the employees and interact with customers on the phone or via email. Many interactions will be via phone or email as the employees and directors work in the field.
Throughout the course of a week, you will: run payroll, update job databases, update QuickBooks, pay vendors and directors, send referrals and maintain the general operations of the office and cooperative. You will also provide updated information to the officers/board to ensure smooth operations and decision making.
Who we are looking for:
3+ years of office/operations management and/or HR experience
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Google Workspace (particularly Docs & Sheets)
Experience with accurate high volume data entry
Familiarity with Federal, State and Local employment regulations
Proficiency in use of office technology, printing and scanning, etc. in an Apple/Mac environment
Must be dependable, punctual and responsible, self-starter and self sufficient
Show professionalism, diplomacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to have:
o Knowledge of database programs such as FileMakerPro
o Project Management experience
o HR Certification
