If you are passionate about Public Health education, connecting marginalized communities to social services, and outreaching to students and families to help eliminate barriers to education and resources, then Safe Passages' Public Health AmeriCorps program is the perfect opportunity for you. As a Public Health AmeriCorps member, you will serve in schools and community spaces, providing critical resources, youth mentorship, and education on public health topics.
Members will serve in teams at school sites and in communities across Oakland. Members will support school-based health and wellness programs, assist in data collection and tracking outreach efforts, and help community members navigate barriers related to public benefits, housing, food security, and other issues. No prior experience is required, just a commitment to uplifting and supporting Oakland students and communities.

Must be at least 17 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
Proof of citizenship or legal permanent resident status
Proof of tuberculosis (TB) clearance
