The shipping and receiving clerk should manage the flow of materials into and out of a facility, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety in all related processes. This role involves receiving, inspecting, documenting, and storing incoming items, as well as packaging, labeling, and preparing outgoing shipments. Strong organizational and communication skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving:

Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspect for damage or discrepancies, and properly documenting and storing items.

Shipping:

Preparing outgoing shipments by packaging, labeling, and completing necessary documentation.

Inventory Management:

Maintaining accurate records of inventory, potentially including cycle counts and stock location updates.

Communication:

Interacting with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.

Safety and Organization:

Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following safety procedures and guidelines.

Equipment Operation:

Utilizing hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment to move material.

Documentation:

Preparing and maintaining accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.

Essential Skills:

Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in all tasks, from verifying quantities to preparing paperwork.

Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and maintaining a tidy workspace.

Communication Skills: Clearly communicate with team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

May be involved in cycle counts or other inventory management activities.

Required to operate forklifts or other equipment.

May be required to make deliveries.
