About Laminar

Laminar, now a part of Johnson & Johnson is a clinical stage medical device company advancing transseptal left atrial appendage (LAA) closure. The LAA is a small pouch in the left atrium of the heart that is a major contributor to thromboembolic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. It has developmental, ultra-structural, and physiological characteristics distinct from the left atrium proper. Growing incidence of atrial fibrillation and medical device developments have rapidly expanded the market.

Education:

MUST HAVE High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the Medical Device Industry.

Experience:

Min. 5 years’ experience as a Technician/Assembler in the Medical Device Industry.

Must have demonstrated experience Laser Welding small components.

Experience assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment.

SolidWorks modelling is highly regarded.

Mechanical aptitude.

Advantageous to have machine shop experience including manual lathe and milling machines.

Attention to detail with good hand eye co-ordination.

Responsibilities:

Weld very small components using a laser welder.

Assemble catheters and sub-assemblies using microscopes and small tooling.

Help to develop processes to improve product yield and reliability.

Test and inspect device components and assemblies.

Willingness to work alongside production staff to assemble and package product.

Complete preventative maintenance tasks.

Flexible and adaptable – comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

Ability to perform complex or specialized technical assignments requiring working independently.

Liaise with Quality and R&D departments daily.

Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.

Good writing and speaking skills. May be required to develop procedures:

Manufacturing Instructions, Equipment Installation & Operational Qualifications, Preventive Maintenance,

Standard Operation Procedures, Test Protocols and Test Reports.
