Graphic Designer/ SquareSpace Web Manager
About the International Ocean Film Festival
Launched in 2004, IOFF is the leading Bay Area ocean destination event of the year. Taking place at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, the IOFF is a three-day celebration of the ocean, featuring more than 40 independent films from around the world, visiting filmmakers, special guests, panel discussions and opportunities to engage with Ocean Hero Community Partners throughout the weekend. The film festival strives to engage the next generation of ocean conservationists by offering a Free Student Education Program and an International Student Film Competition for middle school and high schools students. The festival takes place in-person on April 12-14, 2024 in San Francisco at Cowell Theater, Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture.
Overview:
The Graphic Designer/ Web Manager (GD/WM) is responsible for creating and managing printed materials, online materials, and additional signage for the upcoming film festival. In addition to creating materials, GD/WM will also update our website on a regular basis with blogs, images, film festival content, and any additional needs as required.
Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and hybrid- remote/ in-office hours Monday through Friday
Skills and Experience:
Three to five years of experience in graphic and web design/ management
Proven graphic designing experience
A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva)
Experience with SquareSpace websites (editing pages, building pages, and embedding external sites on the pages)
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
Schedule and Office Location: This is currently offered as a part-time, exempt position.
The IOFF offices are located in the Presidio of San Francisco.
Reports to: Executive Director
Work Schedule: M-F 12pm-4pm. (Flexible on days when needed)
Compensation: Hourly, $25-45 depending on experience
Employment Type: Part-time, temporary independent contractor, seasonal through April 9, 2024.
