Small tax law firm in Jackson Square area is looking for a paralegal or administrative assistant as we grow to the next level. The position starts as part-time, with the plan to grow to full-time within a few months. We would start with in-office work on Thursdays and Fridays, until training is completed; where we would increase days worked and the ability to do certain days remote. (The founding attorney works remotely on Wednesdays, and some other days.) Willing to train someone that is new to the field that matches the needs of the firm.
The founding attorney is a 4-time Super Lawyer Rising Star, and an Enrolled Agent, that practices tax controversy law, alongside of business formation/dissolution law. We represent people and businesses before the IRS, FTB, EDD, CDTFA, OTA and taxing agencies of other states; and appear in cases before the United States Tax Court, federal District Court, California Superior Court, California Office of Tax Appeals, California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and other tax hearing boards. We also deal with compliance issues for businesses at the federal, state, county, and city levels.
Looking for someone that is comfortable with interacting with clients via email and phone to keep cases moving forward; able to proof-read documents, assist in scheduling (and keeping us on task for writing up the documents while emails and phone calls are coming in), and be part of the team as we strategize timing for the cases. We are looking for someone that becomes a key part of the team as we help our clients through their stressful situations; alongside for a desire to continuously learn about the different elements of the kinds of cases we work.
