Another Source’s client, Stanford University, is recruiting 2 Human Resources Business Partners in Redwood City, CA. Both part of the Business Affairs HR team, one HR Business Partner will support the Financial Management Services (FMS) department and the other will support the University IT (UIT) department. This is an opportunity to have a huge impact with a team that supports many groups campus-wide at Stanford. This is a hybrid position, with the expectation to come on-site 1-2 days per week.

Internally this will be titled Associate Director of Human Resources

Financial Management Services (FMS) HR Business Partner Summary:

Financial Management Services (FMS) is a part of the Stanford University Business Affairs organization, whose vision is “to work together to make administration seamless and efficient to enable and support teaching, learning and research.” FMS consists of eight primary departments that oversee the core functions of the organization. In addition to these, FMS is responsible for financial policy oversight, quality assurance and serving as a liaison to the hospitals and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC).

The Business Affairs HR team seeks an experienced and talented individual to join our team as an Associate Director of Human Resources for our Financial Management Services (FMS) organization. Our ideal candidate will have a depth of HR experience in all the roles of a generalist, plus be experienced in talent management to include recruiting, performance management, high potential development and succession planning. This role will interface directly with our Senior Associate Vice President (SAVP) of Financial Management Services and her leadership team who manage the complex and decentralized business of financial administration. The primary reporting relationship for this position is to the Senior Director of HR for Business Affairs (BA), while also collaborating closely with the Manager of Finance and Administration (FMS).

This role will serve as a strategic human resources advisor for the senior leadership team of the FMS organization. The role has it’s operational, transactional, and transformational aspects, however you will spend a great deal of your day working side by side with leaders who are working on strategic university wide initiatives. You’ll provide your input, wisdom, and insights in addressing policies, programs and processes for the organization.

University IT (UIT) HR Business Partner Summary:

The Business Affairs HR team seeks an experienced and talented individual to join our team as an Associate Director of Human Resources for our University IT (UIT) organization. Our ideal candidate will have a depth of HR experience in all the roles of a generalist, plus be experienced in talent management to include recruiting, performance management, high potential development and succession planning. This role will interface directly with Stanford’s CIO and his leadership team who manage the complex and decentralized business of IT. While the role will work closely with IT leadership, the position reports directly to the Senior Director of HR for Business Affairs, who reports to the AVP of Finance and Administration, Business Affairs. The ideal candidate will also have a deep understanding and appreciation of the unique world of Information Technology.

This role will serve as a strategic human resources advisor for the senior leadership team of the UIT organization. This role has a dotted line reporting relationship to the UIT Chief of Staff and is guided by the direction of the CIO and Chief of Staff to advance the strategic goal developing the culture of One UIT. The Associate HR Director will manage the Human Resources Manager (HRM) for UIT guiding this individual in addressing staff related issues, policies, programs, and processes for the organization.

Education & Experience Requirements for both roles:

Bachelor's degree and five years relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience. 8 -10 years of relevant experience preferred.
