Job Description:
The main responsibilities of our Registered Veterinary Technicians and Experienced Assistants include:
Induction and monitoring of anesthesia.
Surgery preparation.
Calculating, drawing up and logging proper drug dosages for patients.
Dental prophylaxis, including extractions and radiography.
IV catheter placement.
Phlebotomy.
Cystocentesis.
In house lab work ie: fecal floats, urinalysis, ear cytology, and CBC/Chemistry using Idexx Lasercyte and Catalyst machines.
Maintain hospital cleanliness including, but not limited to, cleaning cages, vacuuming and mopping, laundry, keeping treatment and exam rooms clean and sanitary.
Occasional front desk relief, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and invoicing clients.
What Are The Hours?
We are looking to hire full-time and part-time applicants. Our business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am - 7:00pm and Saturdays 8:30am - 5:00pm. This position will require evening and Saturday availability.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a friendly, upbeat, responsible individual with excellent client and patient skills. We prefer someone with at least 1 year of work experience in a veterinary hospital, but will train the right candidate. Applicants must be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs on their own and be able to sit, stand, squat and kneel down for long periods of time.
