Come work with the County of Sonoma as an Assistant Building Superintendent!

The Assistant Building Superintendent directly supervises five to twelve Building Mechanics, Parking Enforcement Officers, and Event Services Aides, and provides technical guidance and advice to their staff. This position addresses complex building issues and uses problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify the best possible solutions and/or recommendations for consideration. The Assistant Building Superintendent is a working supervisor and performs difficult building and maintenance tasks. The work schedule is four 10- hour days (Monday-Thursday, or Tuesday-Friday, 6:30am-5pm). The position could be called in to work at night, weekends, or in any type of weather. On a daily basis, this position is responsible for:

Meeting with crews to discuss work assignments, on-going projects, and/or challenging issues, and establishing daily and weekly goals

Assisting the team with technical challenges that arise during the day

Managing projects with cross-functional teams comprised of internal and external stakeholders

Processing and approving timecards and invoices

Conducting onsite inspections and ensuring buildings and work environments are clean, safe, and comfortable for staff and visitors

Note: This position will be required to have access to Sheriff's Office and/or Probation Department facilities and/or view data or work with information systems for these departments. This requires that a more extensive "Security Clearance" will be performed after hire.
