IN A NUTSHELL:
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for maintaining and leading service during each shift. The AGM is a leader in the FOH and direct support to the General Manager (GM), working closely with the Kitchen Manager (where applicable). The AGM sets the tone for the FOH and BOH, leading and interfacing with, as well as ensuring the customer’s needs are met and food quality and safety is maintained. The Assistant General Manager serves as Manager on Duty when the GM is off.
Our ideal candidate has FOH or BOH experience (or even better - both), is available to work full-time, and has excellent communication/interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership abilities, and technical skills.
All Wise Sons team members have the flexibility to run the cash register, put a catering order together, and jump on the sandwich line to toast up a bagel and shmear all in a day's work. The DETAILS:
Oversee FOH/BOH team as “shift lead”
Communicate with the team via a Slack membership
Lead and train team for efficient service, using manuals and leading by example
Always be in the Beauty’s/Wise Sons’ dress code, leading by example
Monitor staff breaks and hours
Ensure that every plate of food served is up to Wise Sons standards and speed of service is maintained
Ensure catering orders are completed on time
Espresso/coffee making
Interface with customers, taking orders, touching tables, sales-oriented
Give friendly, gracious, and knowledgeable service to guests. Maintain professionalism. Greet and direct customers to the register
Answer guest questions, especially with regard to ingredients and allergies
Monitor complaints and address concerns and feedback as necessary
Receive pick up orders over the phone or Delivery tablet, and to multitask this with a line of customers
Communicate clearly on any ticket changes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop
Utilizing open/close checklists
Oversee equipment maintenance and safety
Maintain daily food and beverage orders, as necessary
Ensure proper storage of all foodstuffs and product rotation is maintained
Financial management
Manage cash handling, including bank deposits and tip counting
Daily financial reporting, upload receipts and invoices, and enter CTUIT communications logs
Fluency with POS systems (Square experience a plus)
Receive credit card and cash payments, split payments, issue refunds, and comps
