The Local Butcher Shop is a retail butchery located in North Berkeley at Shattuck and Cedar. We work with whole carcasses sourced from local and sustainable ranches and farms. Our crew is a fun, talented group of folks who enjoy customer service as well as learning.
We are currently hiring a weekend dishwasher, for Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 through about 8:00. There are opportunities for additional hours during the Thanksgiving through New Years holiday season, though this is not a requirement.
The primary responsibilities are washing the dishes and equipment we accumulate, with some kitchen projects for any downtime.
You must be able to work standing for at least eight hours, and lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
Wages start at $19.18/hour.
We are also a worker-owned cooperative, part-ownership and profit-sharing opportunities are available to those interested in becoming a member of the cooperative following a year of service and a positive job review.
