We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This full-time role offers a four-day work week, daytime hours (typically 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM), and a competitive hourly rate of $35, along with full benefits.
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Estate Chef, ensuring a clean and organized kitchen, executing daily lunch service, and preparing cheese plates and other snack items. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, the ability to multitask, and a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Prep and plate food for lunch service
Lead the kitchen in the Chef's absence
Assist with new menu development
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
Wash dishes as needed
Manage kitchen inventory and place orders as required
Maintain safe and sanitary kitchen standards
Assist in cleaning and organizing reach-in refrigerators and dry storage
Participate in wine education and professional development opportunities
Assist with special hospitality events at the winery
Qualifications:
2–3 years of restaurant experience preferred (but not required)
Must be available to work weekends and some holidays
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Problem-solving skills and ability to multitask effectively
Positive and professional attitude
High attention to detail
Valid California driver’s license
