Lunch Box is hiring for part time line cooks and closing dish/prep. We're a small crew who deeply values a positive and supportive work environment and are looking for like minded individuals to join our team.

AM Line Cook

The AM Line Cook will be responsible for overseeing and executing lunch service, which is our busiest time of day. This role requires strong time management, the ability to keep up with a fast-paced service, and consistent attention to quality. Responsibilities include timely execution of orders, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and monitoring line inventory to ensure smooth operations throughout service.

PM Line Cook

The PM Line Cook will have a blended role, handling both prep work and line cooking duties. This position requires flexibility and the ability to transition between preparing ingredients and cooking on the line as needed. Maintaining cleanliness, proper food storage, and accurate prep levels are key to success in this role.

PM Dish/Prep

Dishes, prep work including making sauces, slicing work, etc. and occasionally assisting the line cook during busy times.

General Responsibilities:

-Prepare and execute food orders accurately and efficiently

-Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment

-Monitor and replenish line inventory and communicate shortages

-Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

-Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and FOH staff to ensure smooth service

We’re looking for candidates who are punctual, team-oriented, and capable of performing under pressure. Prior kitchen experience is required.

Hours: 20-30 hours a week, hours have a potential to increase depending on catering/pop-up schedule.

We are currently looking for:

Wednesday - Sunday open (10-3)

Wednesday - Sunday afternoon through close (ending time will be 8pm)

Job Requirements:

-must be at least 18 years old

-must have a California Food Handler's Card

-minimum of 2 years of experience is desired

-understanding FIFO and consolidation practices

-excellent multi-tasking and communication skills

-open availability including evenings and weekends

-ability to be on your feet for 7+ hours and lift 50+ lbs

Compensation is $23-$28+ per hour depending on experience and position and is a combination of base wage plus tips as part of our shared tipping pool.
