Job Overview
The Kitchen Manager (KM) leads our BOH team with passion and commitment to excellence. This hands-on role involves managing kitchen operations, ensuring high food quality, developing team culture, and achieving performance targets. The KM embodies our core values, fosters team growth, and improves systems to elevate operations.
Responsibilities
BOH Leadership & Culture
Recruit, train, and mentor BOH staff.
Uphold Mamahuhu’s core values and foster a positive kitchen culture.
Conduct one-on-one reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
Operational Excellence
Ensure food quality and consistency through tastings and audits.
Manage prep, ordering, and inventory to maintain menu availability.
Create and oversee BOH schedules, handle PTO, and resolve call-outs.
Financial Accountability
Meet food and labor cost targets to achieve profit goals.
Participate in monthly P&L reviews, set action plans, and implement solutions.
Customer Experience
Coordinate with FOH for smooth service and resolve issues efficiently.
Maintain high cleanliness and organizational standards.
Team Development
Provide training and onboarding for new hires.
Develop SOPs and training tools in collaboration with leadership.
General Requirements
Experience: 5+ years in restaurants, 3+ years in management.
Certification: ServSafe Manager certification required.
Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish; strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
